Our Interns - 2018

Intership in GMCE Haifa Hub

The GMCE Haifa Hub has embraced its first set of interns this summer. We have welcomed interns from various universities with a range of intellectual backgrounds, interests, and aptitudes. Proficiency, amongst our first class of interns, is recognized across the domains of Economics, Arabic, Islamic Studies, Mechanical Engineering, Sociology, Environmental Science, Management, History, Philosophy, and Biomedical Engineering. The intern experience is not only pivotal on a professional level, but on a personal one as well. Unconditional effort and support is invested into allowing our interns to blossom holistically while living abroad, as many do. Whether it be advice pertaining to culture, travel, or career direction we view the comprehensive assortment of pursuits that transpire outside of the office to be an integral component to the development of our team.

I am a summer intern at the Haifa Hub. I am from a small town North of Boston called Swampscott. As a rising junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I am studying Management while concentrating in Human Resources, and also doing a minor in Philosophy. At the Haifa Hub I am doing Human Resource planning work for the Global Medical Centers of Excellence. I have been working on a hiring plan of what staff we might need for the new hospital, and also orientation and training planning. I am also doing market research for MyScent, a company devoted to innovating the way we categorize and communicate scents.

I was raised outside of Boston, where I still live to this day. I currently attend the University of Delaware, and am a rising Junior, studying economics, international business, Islamic studies and Arabic. I am interning for the Haifa Hub this summer doing mostly marketing and business operations. I split my time between two organizations, Asparna and 101Cafe. Working at the Haifa Hub has taught me a lot about working with start ups in an international environment.
